7 Keys to the Kingdom of God

When Jesus was here on earth as a physical person, the #1 topic was the Kingdom of God.

So since it was the top message of Jesus, I figured I would share 7 signature elements that I have found in my studies and experiences about God's Kingdom.

1) Faith over fear. Jesus tells us we can live by faith instead of by fear. He asked us to trust in God’s power, not to live by fear of our earthly circumstances or what currently may be happening in our lives. He said if we have faith the size of a mustard seed we can move mountains.

2) Freedom through Surrender. This isn't surrender like in war, but more like our struggle to control everything on our own instead of trusting in God's higher way. Jesus said unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it cannot produce fruit.

3) Confidence through Humility. Our confidence doesn't come from puffing ourselves up and trying to be powerful, but rather from humbly knowing God is in control and the Spirit is able to do all things through us. Jesus said whoever exalts themself will be humbled, but whoever humbles themself will be exalted.

4) Power through Forgiveness. So often in our earthly minds, we feel powerful when we argue our points or plot revenge, but in reality, our greatest power comes when we simply release our burdens and forgive those who've wronged us. Jesus said if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

5) Leadership through Servanthood. Jesus said if we want to lead, we must first serve. The greatest leaders are those who uplift others rather than seeking status for themselves. Jesus said whoever wants to be great amongst us must first be a servant.

6) Provision through Prayer. We don't need to stress for resources and provision through only our own actions and intellect. Prayer has power and can be very efficacious and causative. Jesus said to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

7) Love for Others over Selfishness. While there is nothing wrong with being unique and ensuring our own self-care, we are the most happy and fruitful when we are overflowing from the previous six points and using our talents and treasures to give love to others. And understanding that "getting through giving" is the biggest spiritual truth of all. Jesus only ever gave one new commandment, which was "love others as I have loved you."

In my experience, if you want to live as a spiritually empowered person and benefit from all these wonders of the Kingdom of God, all you need to do is say to God "Not my will but Thy will," and then be ready to follow. This doesn’t mean losing your identity or unique personality, but instead it means aligning it with the fullness of God’s Kingdom, where true joy, purpose, and impact are found.

If you want to grow deeper in this, you can right now tell God you are ready for more. You can ask Jesus to lead you to the next level. And ask the Holy Spirit to more fully envelop you, sanctify you, and empower you with strength and wisdom, and to expand through you and give you power and guidance.

If this Kingdom of God stuff is new to you and you want to live a much better life, just admit to God that you have sinned and often been far from the Kingdom, but now you are ready. Ask Jesus to be Lord of your life and lead you, And ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, sanctify you, and empower you with strength and wisdom on the path forward. If you do that, you're in 🙂
